NRL Premiers 2017 Melbourne Storm DVD from DVDLand.
Sunday 1 October, 2017: The Melbourne Storm is a team built on excellence; having proven to be the most successful side in 2017, the Storm went about its work with customary clinical precision and a discipline that rarely wavered. Under the watchful gaze of Craig Bellamy, Melbourne had a belief that if they executed perfectly few other teams could run with them and sustain the same level of control, and it proved. Having claimed the Minor Premiership the Storm went into their finals campaign on a wave of confidence and form.
Having been narrowly denied the 2016 NRL Premiers title, the Melbourne Storm of 2017 was on a mission to deliver. With Billy Slater back in the team following his return from injury, the Melbourne Storm spine of Slater, Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Cameron Munster must be considered one of the finest ever seen in the NRL. With a backline featuring Will Chambers, Josh Addo-Carr and Fijian flyer Sulias Vunivalr, operating behind a formidable forward unit comprising of Jesse and Kenny Bromwich, Tim Glasby and young gun Nelson Asofa-Solomona, the Storm entered the Finals looking every bit the champion side of old. In a tough encounter at AAMI Park, the Storm encountered a motivated Paramatta side looking to confound the odds, but experience prevailed as Melbourne secured a narrow victory to earn a week off. This victory was backed up again at AAMI Park as the visiting Brisbane Broncos were defeated to set-up a colossal clash against the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.
The Storm didn't have far to look for inspiration in the Grand Final, with club legend Cooper Cronk having announced his departure from the Melbourne club at the season's end, the Storm put on a show for the ages in front of a packed ANZ Stadium; returning the Provan-Summons Trophy to Melbourne after only four short years' absence to the sound of its fan's rapturous adulation.
