AFL Premiers 1967 Richmond DVD from DVDLand.
There have been great teams to win premierships and there have been dramatic finishes, but for a showcasing of rare talents on a perfect spring afternoon they came no better than this. Two great teams met on a beautifully presented MCG and they turned on a game those who were there will never forget. With scored tight throughout the entire day, this was a game which asked individuals to stand up and be counted. The first was Richmond's Billy Barrot who was causing the Cats headaches through the middle. His leads followed by Billy Brown who was everywhere on the ball for the Tigers and Royce Hart whose exquisite skills shone at centre half-forward and became brighter the further the game wore on. But the Cats had their stars. Bill Goggin had a great battle with Brown, Polly Farmer was a tower of strength in the ruck and Tony Polinelli and John Sharrock were causing great problems with the pace across the wing and half-forward. But as this game rolled from one end of the ground to the other, it was obvious that few outstanding individual contributions were set to be crucial. They came from the Tigers. Tony Ronaldson's two monstrous drop kicks, Fred Swift's telling last line mark from a Goggin shot for goal and Kevin Barlett's great goal with only minutes remaining conspired to sink the Cats. The Tigers raised the premiership cup for the first time since 1943.
